A girl with a big ponytail, big feelings, and her own way of moving through the world.
In this illustrated book series, friendship, comparison, confidence, and the wonderfully messy parts of growing up meet the world of dance. Penny is for young readers who are still figuring out what makes them, them.

THE PERSON
BEHIND THE PAGES.
I’m an author, dance educator, and lifelong creative who cares deeply about kids in the middle of becoming themselves.
I’ve spent more than 25 years teaching and choreographing for young dancers. I’ve watched comparison make children doubt their own progress, and I’ve seen what happens when they discover that their pace and their strengths are their own.
Those experiences shape Penny Pirouette and the stories I’ll tell next. I hope children recognize themselves in funny, imperfect characters and keep going through the hard parts.
